Carter Newell Lawyers has appointed Patricia Allendorf as an associate in its corporate and commercial team. The firm said she had worked in Australia and overseas. Allendorf’s focus will be on providing commercial clients with appropriate structuring, taxation and commercial advice.
Freehills has appointed Professor Robert Baxt AO, one of Australia’s leading competition law experts and former chairman of the Trade Practices Commission (now the ACCC), as a partner in its competition law group. Among other things, he was the founder of the Banking and Financial Services Law Association and has been at Allens Arthur Robinson since 1991.
Stephen Patterson has been appointed associate partner at Wilshire Webb. Patterson has been with the firm for more than two years and he has a wide range of experience in local government/planning and environmental law.
Nicol Robinson Halletts has appointed Danielle Christoffersen to its family law team. Christoffersen has more than seven years experience in family law, and has practised in both Queensland and NZ. She is experienced in all aspects of family law including separation, divorce, domestic violence, custody and access, child support, maintenance orders, co-habitation agreements and property settlements.
Rod Stumbles, formerly of Madwicks, has joined Voitin Walker Davis Lawyers as a senior associate in its commercial department.
MacDonnells Solicitors has appointed two articled clerks, Bob Owen and Kerry Brewster, who are based in the firm’s Cairns office. Owen joined MacDonnells Solicitors as an articled clerk in June and is currently completing his Bachelor of Laws. Brewster recently joined as a second year articled clerk. She is working in the commercial and property teams.
