BigLaw firm Squire Patton Boggs has strengthened its litigation practice group in Perth, with the appointment of a partner from rival Clayton Utz.
Scott Crabb (pictured) has joined Squire Patton Boggs’ team as a partner, following a tenure at fellow BigLaw firm Clayton Utz, which lasted just shy of 30 years.
With multiple decades of experience in complex and large-scale commercial litigation, Crabb handled international and multi-jurisdictional disputes, arbitrations, regulatory investigations, and crisis management.
Moreover, Crabb has advised clients across a wide range of industry sectors on issues relating to statutory interpretation, contracting, IP, competition and trade practices, media, distribution, marketing and advertising, and governance and compliance.
Stephen Sampson, who is a partner and leads the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and Australia litigation practice group, spoke on the appointment, highlighting it as a significant part of the firm’s progress globally.
“We are pleased to welcome Scott to the firm,” Sampson said.
“Scott’s appointment is another important step in the expansion of our global practice, complementing recent hires in Spain and the UK and enhancing our ability to support clients on complex matters across key markets.”
It’s not the first major appointment that Squire Patton Boggs has completed this year, with the firm taking a partner from HWL Ebsworth in March, joining Crabb in the Perth office.
Tony Chong, managing partner of the firm’s Perth office, spoke on Crabb’s vast experience and characteristics:

Crabb’s arrival to the Perth office follows a trend in global movements for the firm over the past 12 months, including the arrivals of litigation partners Lorena Fatas in Madrid and Miles Robinson, Deborah Polden, and Ciaran Williams in the UK.
