National law firm Piper Alderman has appointed an experienced corporate lawyer to its national corporate practice, based in Melbourne.
Simon Davidson has joined Piper Alderman as a partner, following an eight-year tenure as a partner at Lander & Rogers.
The move comes following partner appointments in the middle of the year, whereby Piper Alderman added three new partners in a 27-strong promotion round in June, along with the arrival of DWF’s former head of employment and team.
Bringing extensive experience in advising on complex corporate transactions, Davidson has worked in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, foreign investment and corporate advisory matters.
Davidson has practised in Australia, the UK and the Middle East, offering an international perspective.
Recognised for his commercial and innovative approach, Davidson has advised listed and private companies on strategic transactions, capital raisings and business growth opportunities.
Speaking about his decision to join the firm, Davidson noted Piper Alderman’s reputation when it comes to delivering advice from a commercial and practical standpoint.
“Piper Alderman has a strong reputation for delivering commercial, practical advice and fostering genuine client relationships, which aligns strongly with the way I like to operate,” Davidson said.
“I’m excited to join the firm’s national corporate team to continue to provide pragmatic and valuable advice to clients while helping to grow the corporate practice, in particular in equity capital markets.”
Regarding Davidson’s appointment to the firm, principal and managing partner James Macdonald said it will enhance the firm’s ability to provide clients with responsive, strategic advice.

Alongside Davidson’s appointment, Jayde Lysy will join the firm as special counsel, rejoining the team after she had left in 2021 to join ANZ as a senior lawyer.
