Mr Moran (pictured above) has confirmed he has officially joined the global firm, along with senior associates Mairead Cusack and Travis Luk, and associates Richard Berkahn and Reece Corbett-Wilkins.

The new gig sees the team take to Clyde & Co’s Sydney practice.

Mr Moran joins Clyde & Co with a background specialising in contentious insurance. In addition, Mr Moran’s practice includes cyber security and IT liability, professional indemnity, financial institutions and directors & officers.

Along with him being admitted in New South Wales, Mr Moran is admitted to practise law in Ireland, England and Wales.

Prior to his new role at the firm, Mr Moran was employed by Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was made partner in May 2016 and responsible for its establishment of the data breach incident response practice.

“John has a standout reputation in the insurance industry and a practice that runs across the core of our insurance business in Australia,” said Clyde & Co senior partner Simon Konsta.

“His addition will be of benefit to our clients locally, in the London market and globally.

"His addition to our firm will add additional depth and breadth to an already market-leading practice."

Clyde & Co managing partner - Australia Dean Carrigan offered a similar sentiment, noting that Mr Moran is a fantastic addition to the firm not only in Australia but also around the world.

“Many of John's clients are already clients of Clyde & Co and there is no doubt that he is regarded as a trusted advisor by many insurers,” Mr Carrigan added.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Moran said: “I'm delighted to be joining Clyde & Co, a firm which I have observed closely for several years during its period of significant growth”.

“I'm enthused about the opportunities which my practice will have at Clyde & Co and the global footprint that the firm will offer my existing clientele,” he said.

Mr Moran is the latest former NRF partner to join Clyde & Co. Earlier this month, real estate specialist Cameron Thomson was announced as having officially joined Clyde & Co’s partnership in Sydney, following news that he would be departing NRF last year.
