CEK, which has offices in Buenos Aires, Mendoza and New York City, has agreed to be a firm partner for the global entity, and will operate under the banner DLA Piper in Argentina.

The Argentine firm’s lawyers have “deep and wide-ranging experience” in crucial practice areas, and the firm has established an excellent reputation, particularly in the region, according to DLA Piper global co-chairman and co-chairman of the Americas Roger Meltzer.

“As we continue to develop our presence in Latin America based on the needs of our clients in the region and across the globe, this partnership will be an important component of our global capabilities and will ensure we are ideally positioned to address the growing demand for comprehensive cross-border guidance,” he said.

CEK co-founder and head of the firm’s New York office Marcelo Etchebarne added: “Under this arrangement, we will be able to provide local companies with a world-class international platform to satisfy their legal needs, particularly as they relate to regional and international expansion.”

“DLA Piper has expanded its commitment to Latin America significantly over the past several years, and we are thrilled to come together with them during a time when the market in Argentina is rapidly growing and opportunities in a number of industries are increasing,” he said.

The agreement between DLA and CEK follows the former’s expansions into Peru, Chile, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.
