Andrew Hynd joins the firm from Gadens Lawyers, and brings with him more than 20 years of experience advising across technology and procurement issues.

He has worked extensively on IT projects, especially within areas of software licensing, implementation and support, cloud services, privacy and data advice. He has worked with clients across government, government agencies and private sector companies.

Mr Hynd expressed his delight at joining Holding Redlich, particularly at a time of significant change and innovation in the technology and intellectual property areas of law.

He said, “Clients are facing an ever-increasing challenge to manage their IT arrangements, from properly acquiring cloud-based software to ensuring their data and personal information is protected, compliant with various regimes, and properly valued and utilised.

“Our team is well placed to assist them in navigating through these issues to a strong legal and commercial outcome.”

Ian Robertson, national managing partner for Holding Redlich, has welcomed Mr Hynd and said his expertise will increase the strength of the firm’s national information technology practice.

“Holding Redlich has a strong national technology and intellectual property team and Andrew’s appointment strengthens this further, particularly our information technology practice,” Mr Robertson said.

He said Mr Hynd’s appointment adds depth to the firm’s government practice in Queensland.

Queensland managing partner Paul Venus also welcomed Mr Hynd “at an exciting time for the Brisbane office”.

“As the Brisbane office marks 16 years in operation, we continue to focus on our core practice while also expanding into some key new areas,” Mr Venus said.

“We are delighted to have Andrew on board and he will be a key part of our corporate and commercial team.”
