The firm has hired Carl Black, formerly of Squire Patton Boggs, to be a partner in the real estate practice group, and Sam Dundas, who came over from HWL Ebsworth and will be a partner in the dispute resolution group.

Both new partners commenced their roles at the beginning of this month.

In a statement, KWM said it is seeing the Perth market expanding significantly and as such it is delighted to be adding “specialist expertise in this phase of the market”.

“We are fortunate to have very strong national and international practices and the appointments of Carl and Sam will strengthen further our integrated east-west and north-south offering,” said KWM Perth partner-in-charge John Naughton.

Commenting on Mr Black’s appointment, KWM managing partner of projects and real estate Craig Rogers said: “We look forward to welcoming Carl as we further strengthen our real estate capability in Perth and add to our pre-eminent national practice as well as support our Asian clients looking to invest into the WA commercial property sector.”

Elsewhere, speaking about Mr Dundas’ appointment, KWM managing partner of dispute resolution Peter Pether said: “Sam will bring additional breadth to our dispute resolution practice, strengthening our litigation expertise in the local and regional market as well as additional bench-strength to the firm’s market-leading restructuring and insolvency practice.”
