Deal: DLA has advised Pengana on the IPO for its Pengana Private Equity Trust, which it said is Australia’s first global private equity listed investment trust. The IPO of the new investment trust on the ASX will include the issue to the LIT of alignment shares in the ASX-listed Pengana Capital Group, DLA said in a statement.
Value: N/A.
Area: Corporate.
Key players: The DLA team is being led by corporate partners Martin Jamieson and David Ryan, with senior associate Elliott Cheung, solicitor Kelvin Lau and tax partner Eddie Ahn.
The offer is also being made in New Zealand with assistance from NZ funds partner Tracey Cross.
Deal significance: Mr Jamieson said: "We are delighted to once again partner with our client Pengana on this significant transaction, which will see them offer investors unique exposure to a globally diversified portfolio of private equity through a listed vehicle, which is a first for the Australian market."
He and his team also assisted Pengana to obtain the required ASIC relief “so that it has the longest marketing period ever for any LIT IPO”.
