Deal: DLA Piper has advised Seaspan Corporations in its acquisition of APR Energy Limited in an all-stock transaction.

 
 

Value: US$750 million (approximately $1.099 billion), including assumption of debt.

Area: M&A.

Key players: The team was led by deal partners Christopher Paci, Michael Helmer and Daniel Belostock. They were supported by partners John Gallon, David Ryan, Andrew Burton, Paolo Morante, Stephan Harris, Ignacio Sanchez, Nate McKitterick, Guillermo Cabanellas and Antonio Arias.

Deal significance: Seaspan Corporations, an independent charter owner and operator of containerships, has successfully acquired APR Energy Limited, a global leasing business that owns and operates a fleet of gas turbines.

Mr Paci said: “We are very pleased to have assisted Seaspan [in] this transformative transaction, which demonstrates DLA Piper’s remarkable global platform and ability to handle complex cross-border matters.”
