Paint brand Dulux acquires 16 Melbourne businesses

Well-known paint brand Dulux has acquired 16 Melbourne businesses running under the Paint Spot Group brand.

Firm: HWL Ebsworth (Dulux Group Limited)

Deal: Popular paint brand Dulux Group Limited has acquired the Paint Spot Group with the assistance of a team of lawyers from HWL Ebsworth.

Value: Undisclosed.

Area: M&A.

Key players: The team was led by Brendan Earle, with assistance from Connie Lambropoulos, David Marriott, Emma Brand, Tim Frost and Karen Fairbairn.

Deal significance: The Paint Spot Group is composed of 16 Melbourne-based independent paint specialists trading under the brand. It trades across Melbourne and regional Victoria, with over 100 paint specialists.

The transaction involved the acquisition of 16 separate businesses on the same day for cash purchase price and was completed in late December 2019.
