The move from William Street is an important one for the firm, as their first Australian office opened in Melbourne in 1841.
Ashurst Melbourne office managing partner Ross McClymont said that the move was a necessary one for the firm – and added that 80 Collins Street has achieved a six-star green design rating, which further supports Ashurst’s sustainability goals.
“Moving to the new building at 80 Collins Street is an investment in our people and our clients, and an investment we are proud to be in a position to make. Our new premises reflect what we want to be as a business – agile, sustainable and collaborative. The fitout includes a mix of traditional meeting rooms, open collaborative zones and focused work spaces,” he said.
“For us it is more than a new office, it’s a step forward in adapting to a changing world and how we deliver services to our clients.
“Our firm has been part of the legal and business landscape in Melbourne since 1841. Our new office is another milestone in our connection with the Melbourne market and our clients who are based here, who we support locally, nationally and around the globe.”
