Area: Corporate

Key players: The LegalVision team was led by senior lawyer Sophie Mao and lawyer Angelo Mazzone.

Deal significance: Kinde specialises in developing and selling software that helps other software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies develop their own tech products. The company intends to grow from a team of eight to around 50 in the next 18 months. The $10.6 million seed round was led by Blackbird Ventures and also included backing from Felicis Ventures.

Commenting on the deal, Ms Mao said that “it was a pleasure to advise Ross and the team at Kinde on their seed round.

“What an exceptional achievement for the company to receive backing so early in their journey from top Australian and foreign VCs as well as key operators in Australia’s startup space. We can’t wait to see what Kinde achieves next,” she said.

Kinde co-founder Ross Chaldecott commented: “The team at LegalVision were exceptional to work with. This was our first capital raise so we’re incredibly grateful for Sophie and Angelo’s support in creating a smooth process from start to finish.”
