Johnson Winter & Slattery, which has offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, has elevated seven lawyers to its partnership and five to special counsel.

The promotions are effective as of 1 July 2022.

The news follows fellow BigLaw firms Moray & Agnew promoting 15 to more senior roles, Lander & Rogers elevating 49, and Corrs Chambers Westgarth naming eight new partners

The new partners are Jennifer Dean (competition, IP and IT), Felicity Karageorge, Eve Thomson and Antoinette Migliorino (dispute resolution), Rena Solomonidis (restructuring and dispute resolution), Daniel Thompson (TMT) and Andrew Turner (corporate and M&A).

The new special counsel are Emily Barrett (restructuring), Tom Barrett and Jarrod Wilksch (energy and resources), David Li (finance) and Christopher Sones (dispute resolution).

Speaking about the next generation of partners, JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said that the firm is “excited” to welcome this new cohort.

“The high number for promotions this year reflects the strong talent within our firm,” he proclaimed.

“We place a high value on culture and each of these lawyers has demonstrated a strong commitment to our clients and core values of collaboration and support.”

The promotions follow the appointment of 13 lawyers to senior associate in April of this year.

Those elevated to senior associate were Rita Bradshaw and Sally Kim (real estate), Norah Chafardet and Megan Prouatt (employment), Shang-Wen Chien, Jemma Potezny, Rebecca Proudman, Katherine McNamara and Claudia Scardigno (corporate), Erin Condello, Luca Masinello and Gabrielle Sheehan (dispute resolution), and Sascha Silberstein (corporate and finance).
