Maddocks has welcomed Priscilla Blackadder as a new special counsel to its dispute resolution and litigation team, in a move the firm said will strengthen its expertise across intellectual property law, media and regulatory prosecutions and investigations.

Ms Blackadder is a former barrister and highly skilled litigator with a particular expertise in advocacy and practice and procedure in the federal jurisdiction as well as superior trial courts in NSW and Victoria.

Ms Blackadder has 20 years of legal experience and has advised on and acted for high-profile and commercial clients in complex commercial disputes, both at the NSW bar and in private practice. She specialises in intellectual property — including copyright, patents, trademarks and designs — media and defamation, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, privacy, and competition and consumer law.

Practice leader for Maddocks’ commercial disputes team Gina Wilson said that Ms Blackadder’s experience would be a valuable addition to the firm.

“Priscilla brings extensive experience from her time at the bar and from advising a vast array of commercial clients on very complex matters,” she said.

“She has deep knowledge of managing complicated multi-party commercial disputes across all state and federal jurisdictions and will be an incredible asset for our team and our clients.”
