Achieving 30 Under 30 status offers finalists and winners the foundation for career progression while highlighting their passion for the law and dedication to personal advancement.

The awards were open to all legal professionals aged 30 and under within the 2023 calendar year, ending 31 December 2023.

The awards ceremony will showcase the depth of talent in lawyers aged 30 and under and reward them for their tremendous efforts and achievements.

It will also present an opportunity for the young members of the legal profession to network with their peers and forge connections with industry leaders and top firms across Australia.

Those who secure an award could distinguish themselves from their peers and strengthen their position in the profession by elevating their personal brand.

Winners will be determined by a highly regarded panel of judges that includes influential legal professionals.

The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s legal sector.

The finalists’ submissions will be delivered to a panel of respected professionals and business leaders, who assess each submission against the criteria of each award category.

The judges score each part of the submission across the category’s criteria, giving an aggregated score. A number of judges will individually assess each submission for each category, offering a blended score and assessment.

The combined judging scores for each submission for each category is tabulated, with the highest-scoring submission deemed the winner. Click here to view the methodology.

The winners will be announced at the black-tie gala ceremony on Thursday, 7 March 2024, at The Star in Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

Editor Jerome Doraisamy said: “It is always such a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of leaders in law.”

“Achieving 30 Under 30 status is a huge accomplishment, regardless of one’s practice area. And, in a market as turbulent and competitive as the current one, it is a testament to the hard work of all selected finalists that they are acknowledged for their efforts,” he said.

“We look forward to toasting all the finalists (and eventual winners) on the night!”
