She specialises, Ashurst said in a statement, in complex and structured investment real estate deals and has extensive experience in real estate-focused joint ventures, investment funds and development projects. During her time at KWM, she acted for major international investors and developers, including Lendlease, Mirvac and Frasers Property.

Ms Barker is dual-qualified in Australia and England and Wales.

The news follows the firm’s reappointment of two Australian partners to its board in August, its nabbing of two partners from Gilbert + Tobin in June, its hiring of partners from DLA Piper and NAB in the same month, the addition of partners from Hamilton Locke and Bracewell LLP in May, and its promotion of 25 lawyers, including 13 Australians, to its global partnership in April.
