Holding Redlich has added three new partners to bolster its capabilities in corporate transactions, construction and infrastructure projects and disputes.

In Melbourne, Ben Constance joins as a corporate partner and Dado Hrustanpasic as a construction partner with a focus on major projects and infrastructure disputes. In addition, Jonathan Usher joins the Brisbane office as a construction partner.

With more than 20 years of legal experience, Constance started his career in private practice, before moving into in-house roles. He was previously the managing partner at DWF Singapore and, most recently, was general counsel and executive director at the PETRA Group. His prior advisory roles include senior management and board-level advice on private company transactions and capital market deals across Australia, the United States, Asia and the Middle East.

“I’m pleased to be working with the Holding Redlich team to support clients through complex deals and growth opportunities, particularly in the private equity space,” he said.

Hrustanpasic has nearly 15 years of legal experience and joins the firm from CPB Contractors, where he was senior legal counsel. He’s also an honorary senior fellow at the University of Melbourne. He joins the firm’s construction, infrastructure and projects team and has extensive experience managing complex, technical disputes involving engineering, construction and technology issues, with a particular focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors.

“Joining a firm with such a strong focus on the construction, renewables and emerging technology sectors is a great opportunity to build a practice that combines technical depth with commercial understanding,” he said.

“I look forward to contributing to the continued expansion of the practice in Victoria and nationally.”

Usher has more than 21 years of experience advising on hotel, residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments, as well as roads, gas, water and power projects across Australia and the Middle East. He was most recently a director at Brisbane boutique Usher Levi and has previously held roles at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, DLA Piper and Gadens.

“Queensland continues to see significant infrastructure investment, particularly as we approach the Brisbane 2032 Olympics,” he said.

“I’m pleased to be joining a team that supports clients at every stage of the project life cycle, delivering both front-end and back-end services.”

This news comes after the addition of two partners in Canberra late last year, growing the team to 27 people, with six partners, including partner Philip Jones-Hope from KPMG Law’s government and defence team.

Commenting on the most recent appointments, Holding Redlich national managing partner Troy Lewis said the new additions bring “a wealth of experience and knowledge that complements and adds to our current strengths and expertise”.

“These appointments reflect our ongoing strategy to grow our transactional and disputes capabilities in key sectors, and our commitment to investing in practitioners with technical excellence and deep industry knowledge,” he said.
