HopgoodGanim has appointed a new partner in Brisbane, who brings more than 12 years’ experience to the firm.

Partner Matt Wichlinski joins from Kingston Reid and has extensive experience advising employers and insurers across a wide range of complex workplace matters.

He is a specialist employment lawyer and provides strategic and pragmatic counsel on enterprise agreements, employee misconduct, performance management, ill and injured workers, terminations, industrial disputes, and compliance with workplace laws.

HopgoodGanim managing partner Luke Mountford welcomed the new appointment, noting it as a key step in the firm’s strategic growth.

“We’re delighted to welcome Matt Wichlinski to the partnership at HopgoodGanim. His experience in employment law and practical approach make him a valuable asset to our clients and our team. Matt’s appointment reflects our continued investment in attracting top talent to meet the evolving needs of our clients,” he said.

“He’s a strong cultural fit and brings dedicated knowledge to an already high-performing team.”

This news follows the addition of a partner and special counsel from HFW last month, as well as a team of two from BigLaw firm Holding Redlich in March and the addition of a team of eight from national law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth in February.

Wichlinski will join HopgoodGanim’s workplace and employment team, led by partner Andrew Tobin, providing specialist advice to clients across key client markets for the firm.

“Matt brings a wealth of experience in employment and workplace matters,” Tobin said.

“His appointment strengthens our employment expertise and will help us to deliver even greater results for our clients.”
