National law firm Gilbert + Tobin has unveiled its mid-year promotions round, with three being elevated to the partnership.
G+T has promoted Sam Jaffray (corporate advisory, Sydney), Michael Spurritt (banking and projects, Sydney), and Alex Tonkin (banking and projects, Melbourne) to its partnership.
As of next month, G+T will have 116 partners across the country.
Elsewhere, the firm named 10 new special counsel: Sophie Player, Sarah Findley, Callum Fleming, Michael Van Der Ende, Jess McGuirk, Paddy O’Sullivan, Francis Qi, Daniel Nixon, Dan Solomon, and Natalie Zwar.
The appointments, the firm said in a statement, “recognise exceptional legal talent and the strength of the firms’ pipeline across key practice areas”.
The news follows the firm’s hiring of a banking and projects partner from Dentons in February, as well as its appointment of firm board member and corporate advisory partner Costas Condoleon to the Takeovers Panel in March.
Speaking about the promotions, the firm’s executive partner, Tim Gordon, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sam, Michael and Alex to our partnership. They are standout lawyers who’ve earned their place through skill, drive and impact, and [they] will be strong contributors to the firm.
“We also congratulate our 10 new special counsel. These promotions strengthen our talent pipeline and reflect the depth of capability we continue to build at G+T.”
