Thomson Geer has named three new partners, one new principal, six new special counsel, 12 new senior associates, and 33 new associates.

The news follows the firm’s acquisition of Ashurst’s entire Canberra office, including seven partners and over 50 staff, as reported last month.

It also follows the firm’s hire of a partner and team from Hogan Lovells in April, the taking of two teams from Clyde & Co in December, the appointment of a team from HopgoodGanim in the same month, and the nabbing of a team from KPMG Law in October.

Speaking about the promotions, Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said: “The promotions recognise the significant achievements and continuing development of our people.

“We congratulate everyone on their success and look forward to celebrating their career goals into the future.”

The firm’s new partners are Joanna Ling (planning and environment, Sydney), Liam McIllhatton (property and development, Sydney), and Fiona Stapleton (tax, Adelaide), and its newest principal is Scott Newlan (workplace and insurance services, Melbourne – TG Legal + Technology).

Its newest special counsel are Rebecca Ayres, Jonathan Foo, Alexandra Juniper, Rozelle Macalincag, Elise Williams, and Zoe Wu.

The new senior associates are Caleb Delaney, Samuel Harper, Clarissa Lee, Leon Li, Stephanie McHugh, Rosie Morris, Isabella Noon, Melissa Oliveri, Grace Pisano, William Sherry, Annabelle Yap, and Marion Yeung.

And the firm’s newest associates are Jared Billson, Sharon Chen, Alyssa Chow, Heath Cruden, Brittany Darby-Smith, Julian Downes, Ivan Elhen, Aimee Griffin, Joshua Groves, Benjamin Heaslip, Daniel Hicks, Bridget Kennedy, Leonard Kowik, Katherine Lee, Jasmine Lim, Erin Mack, Gabrielle Martino, Francesco Mazzitelli, Chloe Medwin, Ariane Moir, Dimitra Murphy-Holland, Ari Nelson, Callum Newman-Milne, Hugo Oates, Christiana Papadimitriou, Lachlan Peat, Claire Penlington, Christian Piteo, Pragadesh R. Sukumar, Nikhil Ramu, Talia Rosa-Denham, Emma Sansone, and Adeline Tran.

Thomson Geer now has over 860 staff, including more than 150 partners, across its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.
