Independent Australian law firm McCullough Robertson (McR) has strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of Matthew Glenn (pictured) as partner in its Brisbane office, effective 1 July.

Before joining McCullough Robertson, Glenn spent more than 11 years at national law firm MinterEllison, including over six years as a partner.

In a statement, the east coast-based firm described Glenn as an “experienced property lawyer” with specialised expertise in major projects, particularly in delivering solutions across the government, urban renewal, and affordable housing sectors.

Speaking on the lateral partner hire, Guy Humble, joint managing partner at McCullough Robertson, shared his enthusiasm about Glenn joining the firm, highlighting the value his expertise will bring to both the team and its clients.

“This appointment is extremely exciting for our firm and our clients, adding depth to our real estate practice and community housing offering,” said Humble.

“Our clients will benefit from Matthew’s client-first mindset and drive for delivering commercially focused solutions which aligns with McR’s commitment to being approachable experts who relate to and support our clients, always.”

Kristan Conlon, chair of partners at McCullough Robertson, echoed this excitement, emphasising the valuable contribution Glenn will make in strengthening the firm’s real estate team.

“I am delighted to welcome Matthew to the partnership and the real estate team. I know our people will benefit from his approach to building high-performance teams in a supportive environment, and I am particularly excited to collaborate with him in the community housing sector as we head towards our centenary in 2026,” Conlon said.

This news follows the firm elevating 18 lawyers to more senior positions, including one partner, at the end of June, the appointment of a corporate partner from Hazelbrooke Legal in the same month, and the addition of two partners in Brisbane and Sydney in April this year.
