PKF Newcastle has appointed a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in tax, accounting, and law as a principal in its tax team.
Stephanie Brown (pictured) has joined PKF Newcastle as principal, taking the lead of the office’s tax team – a move the accounting firm said will strengthen its ability to “deliver practical, forward-thinking advice” to clients across the Hunter region.
With two decades of cross-disciplinary experience in tax, law, and accounting, Brown has previously worked with two big four firms, KPMG and PwC.
In a statement, PKF expressed how Brown’s diverse background gives her a “rare breadth of perspective”, enabling her to tackle client challenges “holistically and deliver strategic, real-world solutions”.
Currently, PKF has more than 120 partners and over 800 staff across 16 locations nationwide in Australia.
Brown is expected to play a central role in delivering advisory services that not only meet technical requirements but also take into account the long-term goals of clients.
Speaking on her appointment, Brown said she was drawn to PKF for its strong emphasis on technical excellence and fostering meaningful client relationships.
“What drew me to PKF was the culture – there’s a real emphasis on personal relationships and practical problem solving,” Brown said.
“It’s a firm that values both technical expertise and being present for your clients, and that really resonates with how I like to work. I’m excited to join a team that’s collaborative, community-minded, and committed to helping people succeed.”
David Pring, partner of tax at PKF, stated that the decision to bring Brown into the leadership team was a “strategic move” aimed at meeting the “growing demand” for nuanced, personalised tax advice.
“Stephanie is exactly the kind of leader we want in our team – she’s smart, grounded, and brings a wealth of knowledge that spans accounting, tax, and law,” Pring said.
“But beyond that, she’s someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and understands the value of building lasting relationships. We’re thrilled to welcome her to PKF.”
