Stephanie Nicol has brought over 25 years of experience to her new role as lead of Macpherson Kelley’s employment practice.

Having practised in government, in-house and private practice, Nicol’s expertise spans the spectrum of workplace and employee relations matters, including contentious and non-contentious matters.

Nicol said she was looking forward to the new chapter.

“I’m incredibly passionate about my practice and am excited to join the wider employment, safety and migration team at a time when our professional expertise is becoming more sought after in the modern workplace,” Nicol said.

Her employment has come at a time of significant change within the employment law landscape, with employers facing increasing regulatory complexity and heightened employee expectations.

Nicol’s appointment will strengthen the firm’s national employment law capability and reflect its commitment to providing clients with access to senior expertise and practice guidance.

Commenting on the appointment, national managing principal Grant Guenther highlighted Nicol’s value, including her ability to provide clear and practical advice.

“Stephanie is an outstanding addition to our national employment team.

“She has a reputation for combining deep technical knowledge with a clear understanding of her clients’ commercial drivers.

“That alignment is at the heart of how we deliver value at Macpherson Kelley, and we are incredibly fortunate to have someone of her calibre on our team,” Guenther said.

Also joining Nicol at Macpherson Kelley are special counsel Belinda Pinnow within the commercial team, senior associate Pamela Taukuro in the employment practice, and private client senior associate Shannon McMenamin.
