BigLaw firm Lander & Rogers has welcomed an experienced family law partner and mediator to its practice in Sydney.
Charlotte Symes has been appointed as a partner of Lander & Rogers, strengthening the national family and relationship law practice.
Symes’ appointment comes after the firm appointed an infrastructure and construction lawyer as a partner in its real estate and projects team in August.
With a background in family law in both Australia and England, Symes offers specialised expertise across international matters, such as managing assets across jurisdictions and navigating foreign matrimonial property regimes.
Symes joins the firm from Pearson Emerson Family Lawyers, where she served as partner.
Prior to this, she worked at Family Law in Partnership for 11 years, and finished up as a director of the London-based firm.
An experienced family lawyer, Symes is an accredited mediator and collaborative practitioner, and advises on the complex financial, property and parenting issues that arise during separation and divorce, spanning financial settlements and valuations, financial agreements, asset protection and freezing orders, and child arrangements.
Her practice also encompasses guidance regarding domestic and cross-border child relocation applications.
Collette McFawn, who is the lead of Lander & Rogers’ family relationship law group, noted that her wealth of family law experience will be invaluable in the firm.
“Charlotte is a highly regarded family lawyer with extensive experience across complex cross-border matters, high-value financial disputes and international parenting cases,” McFawn said.
“She is also a skilled mediator and has built a reputation for the calm and compassionate way in which she resolves her clients’ matters.
