Tony Phelps was appointed as Piper Alderman's new national managing partner, taking over the role from Gordon Grieve in July this year.

Phelps, who has been with the firm since the mid-1980s, is an experienced commercial litigation lawyer with specialist skills in insurance indemnity and defamation law.

Leading up to his appointment as managing partner, Phelps had developed significant firm management experience through his role as leader of the firm's dispute resolution division and as deputy managing partner.
