Australia upped its credentials in the cross-border disputes resolution space with the opening of the Australian International Disputes Centre in Sydney this year. It's now up to its recently appointed CEO, Michelle Sindler, to lead the Centre forward.

Luckily Sindler herself boasts plenty of credentials. She speaks four languages, has practised in four different jurisdictions, been the partner of three firms and has an unstoppable desire to play a role in taking ADR forward.

"Australia has previously been behind the eight ball when it comes to the practice of international dispute resolution," Sindler recently told Lawyers Weekly in a Legal Leaders feature.

Finally, that's about to change.
