Movers & Shakers: Duncan McGregor, Domestic Offsets Integrity Committee

The legal sector will take a lead role in policy development for dealing with climate change but one lawyer, Minter Ellison partner Duncan McGregor, will make a particularly significant contribution having been appointed to the Federal Government's Domestic Offsets Integrity Committee.

The co-head of Minter Ellison's climate change practice will join the six-person committee in a bid to explore the feasibility of developing and selling carbon credits. The committee is expected to provide its findings early next year, in order to meet the government's timetable to introduce legislation into parliament on carbon farming initiatives by the middle of 2011.
