Movers & Shakers: Peter Gordon, Gordon Legal
After almost 30 years, Peter Gordon left Slater & Gordon in late 2009. But it's this year that Gordon has truly made his mark on the legal sector via his new firm, Gordon Legal.

Gordon and around six lawyers from his former firm negotiated a settlement pro bono on behalf of 45 surviving thalidomide victims in Australia and New Zealand allowing for an annual $3 million payment to be shared amongst the victims, which could last for another 20 years.

Gordon notes that he never intended to practise law again after leaving Slater & Gordon but "quickly realised it was in my blood". He's working with a large number of people who can't afford representation and notes that when he met Ken Youdale, the father of a thalidomide victim, he knew he had to "remain in the game".
