AMP group general counsel Brian Salter has been named as the new chair for GC100.

Mr Salter replaces Carmel Mulhern as chair of the peer-to-peer forum for GCs. Ms Mulhern is the group general counsel at Telstra.

Managing director of ACC Australia, Tanya Kahn, thanked the outgoing chair for her dedication to the role in addition to congratulating Mr Salter as Ms Mulhern’s successor.

“We thank Carmel for her significant efforts in developing the GC100 charter and leading the growth of the group over the past two years,” Ms Kahn said.

“We now look forward to working closely with Brian as we build on the past two years and develop events and resources that assist and support group general counsels in ASX-listed organisations.”

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Australia is part of a global network of more than 40,000 in-house counsel employed by over 10,000 organisations in more than 85 countries.

In Australia, the group believes that in-house lawyers make up approximately 30 per cent of the legal profession.
