Ashurst has been named as the official legal services partner for global sports, luxury automotive and technology brand McLaren Group, with the pair teaming up for a multi-year legal services partnership.

The partnership builds on Ashurst’s well-established relationship with McLaren Automotive and extends to cover McLaren Group as well as the McLaren Racing and McLaren Applied Technologies businesses globally, a statement said.

Ashurst will work alongside McLaren’s in-house counsel on all aspects of its legal requirements, the firm outlined.

Commenting on the announcement, McLaren Automotive’s executive director of commercial and legal Ruth Nic Aoidh said that “following an established relationship with McLaren Automotive, I’m delighted to welcome Ashurst, a globally trusted law firm, as an official partner to the McLaren Group to support and safeguard our continued global growth”.

The McLaren Group’s group legal director and company secretary Tim Murnane added that “at McLaren, we work in a fast-paced world of innovation, so in Ashurst we are delighted to have a partner who understands our different businesses and is agile enough to be able to respond to our growing needs”.

Client Relationship Partner for Ashurst Rob Aird noted that entering into the McLaren partnership “builds on our longstanding relationship with McLaren Automotive, [and] is a fantastic opportunity to further develop the type of long-term, progressive collaboration, which we both see as key to true partnership”.

“Our respective organisations also have a shared commitment to teamwork, excellence and innovation, which will help us both to deliver on our shared objectives," Mr Aird continued.

The firm’s global managing partner, Sydney-based Paul Jenkins, noted McLaren as “a renowned global brand and we very much look forward to working together to further support their future success”.
