Prior to joining UniSuper, she was a principal at Bernie O’Sullivan Lawyers and a senior associate at Maurice Blackburn. She has practised law for 17 years, Baker said in a statement, and is a “highly experienced lawyer with excellent technical and practical skills, especially in the area of superannuation”.
Speaking about the appointment, Baker national managing partner Anthony Foley said: “Thalia further bolsters our capability to service Australian superannuation funds. She also offers advice to fund managers managing assets for Australian super funds, those co-investing with super funds, and the provision of ESG advice.
“Thalia is an outstanding senior lawyer, having previously served as the head of legal advisory at UniSuper, a role where she led a team which provides legal and regulatory advice across UniSuper’s superannuation, financial advice and administration businesses. She is well equipped to provide both regulatory, ESG and transactional advice to our clients.”
Ms Dardamanis added: “I have long been attracted to the firm for its market leading capabilities within the funds and financial services sector in Australia, particularly as it relates to provision of legal services for both local and overseas super, pension and government funds.
“The team at Baker McKenzie is truly world-class.”
