The awards program – which is celebrating its 10th year – aims to showcase the depth of talent among the younger cohort and reward them for their hard work and significant efforts from the beginning of their careers, as well as their passion for the legal profession.

Legal recruitment firm Taylor Root will be the principal partner for the event for the sixth consecutive year, as part of their commitment to supporting the awards program until 2023.

Achieving 30 Under 30 status offers finalists and winners the foundation for career progression while highlighting their dedication to personal advancement and elevating their personal brand.

Judged by a well-regarded panel of industry professionals, the awards offer industry-wide recognition for the young guns in law for professional excellence.

This award acknowledges an individual who has actively advocated for health and wellness initiatives, events, and/or activities among their peers and communities at large. To be eligible, the individual must demonstrate how their initiatives have enriched the understanding and importance of wellness among the legal profession over the 12 months in 2021.

As well as including the popular Wellness Advocate category in the program, Lawyers Weekly is also thrilled to introduce the new Wills and Estate category this year, which is for lawyers who have undertaken and completed outstanding work in this area while demonstrating persistence and resilience.

To be eligible for this award, the candidate must demonstrate how they proficiently advised on wills and estates matters over the 12 months in 2021.

The legal profession will have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and the successes of their peers in person at a glamorous black-tie ceremony on Friday, 3 June at The Star in Sydney.

The awards are open to all individuals 30 or under operating in Australia.

Speaking ahead of the awards, Lawyers Weekly deputy editor Jerome Doraisamy said the performance of emerging leaders in law has been extraordinary amid significantly challenging periods over the past 12 months.

Those coming through the ranks have proven themselves in a market dominated by uncertainty, turbulence and social anxiety. That they have not only weathered the storm, but produced such magnificent work in that time, is a testament to their capabilities and potential, he said.

We cannot wait to celebrate with all such emerging leaders of our legal profession on the night.”

Taylor Root partner and head of Australia Hayden Gordine commented that the legal recruitment firm has been a principal partner of the 30 Under 30 Awards since its inception, and “we are immensely proud of our association”.

“As a young lawyer, this is the first opportunity to stand out from the crowd, the first opportunity to be recognised as a star practitioner, to show the partners that you are partner potential, and to show clients that you are objectively better than the rest,” Mr Gordine said.

“Achieving 30 Under 30 status offers the foundation for career progression. As legal search and recruitment specialists, our consultants at Taylor Root see first-hand the importance and marketability of 30 Under 30 status.

“A nomination will have a dramatically positive impact on your personal branding, market value and it opens many doors. We see the value in an award that sets yourself apart from your peers and it is why Taylor Root continues to be principal partner of the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 year after year.”

Make sure you don’t miss out on nominating yourself or your peers and being recognised as an up-and-coming high achiever in law.
