THE SYDNEY office of Herbert Geer & Rundle (HGR) has boosted its corporate advisory division in Sydney with the appointment of Michael Beaumont as partner.

Coming from a major national law firm, Beaumont brings to the HGR corporate advisory team significant expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets.

Corporate and finance practice leader, Peter Nankivell, said HGR was delighted to gain a new partner of Beaumont’s calibre to further reinforce the firm’s expansion in its Chifley Tower offices.

“[Beaumont] has a breadth of transactional experience, both domestically and internationally — particularly in healthcare, resources and banking — on matters such as takeovers, share and business acquisitions and disposals, securities and other financial product issues. This key appointment further increases our capacity to deliver corporate advisory services to our Sydney clients,” Nankivell said.

Beaumont said that HGR’s reputation for client relationship management and its prominence in recent high profile deals in the Sydney market were very positive motivators for joining the firm as part of its continuing expansion.
