The Brisbane office of Gadens has taken on a new director in its banking and finance practice.
Deb Bean comes to the firm after a 10-year stint at rival firm McCullough Robertson. She specialises in complex commercial banking transactions, consumer credit compliance, debt restructuring and receiverships. Over her career, she has been involved in many high profile transactions and has acted for international, national and regional banks, building societies and other financial institutions.
Paul Spiro, managing partner of Gadens Brisbane, said Bean’s appointment was driven by a need to proactively manage the accelerated growth of the firm’s banking and finance practice.
“Our banking and finance practice has grown rapidly over recent years due to a number of new national appointments and the renewal of legal panel arrangements with some of our major banking clients,” Spiro said.
“It was imperative that we pursued a senior appointment in this area so that we can continue to service our clients appropriately. [Bean] brings unrivalled skills and experience to the firm and it is also a great cultural fit with our team,” he said.
