Firm Lander & Rogers welcomed the appointment of David Cornwell as special counsel in the corporate and commercial group in Melbourne, along with four senior associates.
Cornwell has extensive experience in commercial practice, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory, securities and capital markets, private equity/venture capital, and banking and structured finance/project finance. He has previously practised in leading firms in New Zealand, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Other appointments to the firm include Jodi Jacob as senior associate in the property, planning and environment group in Melbourne, Jonathan Hunt and Lesley Woodmore as senior associates in the insurance group in Sydney, and Michael Cooper as a senior associate in the WorkCover group, also in Sydney.
“[Lander & Rogers] has doubled in size in the last five to six years, which includes the opening of our Sydney office in January 2000. This significant organic growth is a response to our clients’ requirements, not as a result of any mergers or significant acquisitions, and has been managed in a considered way,” chief executive partner David Fitch said.
“We are very careful with our recruitment. Our experience is that gradual development is more resilient and more likely to maintain the cultural and human values that we see as critical to our business and satisfying our clients.”
