Clayton Utz has appointed corporate lawyer Matt Anderson as a partner in its corporate division. Anderson specialises in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and funds management.
TressCox has appointed Mary Edquist as a partner in its corporate and health and projects divisions. Edquist was previously at Middletons.
Gadens has appointed Prins Ralston and Chris O’Shea as partners in its Brisbane group. Ralston will join the firm’s corporate advisory division and has worked as chief operating officer and general counsel in overseas companies and organizations. O’Shea worked with Corrs Westgarth Chambers and Blake Dawson Waldron before joining the firm.
Piper Alderman has appointed Simon Venus as partner in its corporate division after six years at the firm. Venus has been involved in several asset acquisitions and disposals in the energy sector.
Sarvaas Ciappara has appointed Michael Healey as partner in its new commercial and property legal services division. Healey has extensive experience in the area and was the founding partner of Dexter Healey as well as former consultant to Moroney Betts.
Franklyn Legal has appointed Russell Philip and Christian Owen as executive directors. Philip was previously a senior associate at Freehills in their mergers and acquisitions group. Owen was previously with Clayton Utz and UK firm Linklaters in their competition law and contractual dispute divisions.
Colin Biggers & Paisely have appointed Kerry Steward and Grant Covington as senior associates in their insurance division, and Rachelle Harrington as senior associate in their commercial law division. Steward specialises in professional indemnity, building and construction, medical malpractice and public liability claims; Covington in general insurance claims; and Harrington in commercial litigation.
