Hunt & Hunt Melbourne has appointed Andrew Walker to the position of senior associate. Walker, formerly with the City of Melbourne for four years, and prior to that a solicitor in private practice, brings with him expertise in the property, planning and environment areas of law. The national firm has strong local government experience and relationships and Walker is expected to be instrumental in the Melbourne practice’s efforts to gain local government work.
Abbott Stillman & Wilson has appointed Brett Penberthy as partner. He first joined ASW as special counsel in 2003. Penberthy’s 20 years of experience provides valuable and dynamic strategic input to the WorkCover and personal injury practice.
Herbert Geer & Rundle has appointed Melissa Letford as a senior associate within the firm’s insurance litigation division in Brisbane. Letford specialises in public liability and indemnity litigation. John Bushby has been appointed as a consultant within Herbert Geer & Rundle’s expanding CDR unit based in Melbourne. He practises in commercial litigation across a wide range of disciplines.
Wendy Abraham QC will be joining the office of Damian Bugg QC, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP), in June to undertake a national in-house senior counsel role. Abraham will be based in Sydney but will undertake senior prosecutorial work nationally, including a broad range of appellate work within the practice of the office of the CDPP.
