McInnes Wilson Lawyers has appointed Chris Davis as a tax partner and Toby Nielson as an insurance litigation solicitor. Davis will advise clients on income tax, capital gains tax, stamp duty and GST. He joins McInnes Wilson after six years in the corporate advisory group of Blake Dawson Waldron. Nielson brings his specialist experience in insurance litigation to the firm. He will be based in the firm’s Maroochydore office.
Graeme Traves, formerly of Hunt & Hunt, joined the Brisbane office of Abbott Tout Lawyers as a new partner on 1 September. According to the firm, Traves has been at the forefront of workers compensation for more than 15 years at both a state and federal level. He acts for WorkCover Queensland, Comcare and a number of self-insurers in Queensland.
