Matthews Folbigg has appointed Paul Vergotis, a planning lawyer with 25 years local government and planning experience, to its local council practice.

 
 

Cutler Hughes & Harris recently appointed Rhett Doyle as a partner in its commercial property practice. Previously with PwC Legal, the firm said his extensive transactional experience complemented Cutlers’ existing property services.

Phillips Fox has added senior associate Hayden Martin to its Sydney commercial dispute resolution practice. He has more than eight years experience in specialist law firms Norton White and Norton Smith & Co and specialises in general commercial litigation, debt recovery and insolvency, ADR, competition and trade practices.

Meena Raniga has recently joined Bain Gasteen Lawyers property group as a solicitor. Her experience includes both residential and commercial developments. Prior to joining the firm Raniga worked at a Queensland inner-city law firm specialising in property law and at a national law firm as part of its property and infrastructure team.

Nick Holuigue has joined Maddocks property team as a senior associate in Melbourne. His practice areas include acquisitions and disposals, developments, hospitality and leisure, commercial and retail leasing and subdivisions. He was formerly at Minter Ellison.

Maurice Blackburn Cashman has appointed Theodora Ahilas as partner in charge of the dust diseases and hazardous substances group in its Sydney office. She is a former partner of Turner Freeman Solicitors, specialising in dust and asbestos claims. Lawyer Francesca Colubriale has also joined the firm in the personal injuries department.
