NSW barrister and arbitrator Derek Minus has been elected as the president of the Australian branch of The Australian branch of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Minus is a fellow of the institute, dual-qualified in arbitration and mediation.
One of the first projects of the ranks will be the launch of a mediation-arbitration settlement scheme, which aims to combine the flexibility of mediation with the certainty of an arbitration determination. "Hybrid processes are the next horizon in dispute resolution schemes internationally," he said.
