Alan Cornell has been hired alongside commercial litigation and workplace relations specialist Ross Hodgens, who joins the same practice. Both have been hired as special counsels.
Cornell, who is also a former joint senior partner of Blake Dawson and, most recently, special counsel at Gadens, said that while he has enjoyed his time at the big firms, he is excited about joining a “young and growing firm”.
An experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, Cornell was a partner at what is now Blake Dawson and also set up and ran the firm’s London office in the 90s.
Hodgens, an expert in employment law, discrimination/equal opportunity and occupational health and safety, started the employment and industrial relations Team at Russell Kennedy in 1996.
Leon Ponte and Philip Earle, principals at Ponte Earle, said their clients will reap the benefits of the skills and experience the new recruits bring to the team.
“There are too many firms that do not take advantage of lawyers with the experience of Alan and Ross,” said Ponte.
