Baker & McKenzie has lured construction law specialist Geoffrey Wood from Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Wood, who was formerly a partner in Mallesons' construction engineering group, joins Bakers as a partner in its Sydney office.

Wood has more than 25 years' experience specialising in major infrastructure, construction and defence projects.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of the negotiation, documentation and administration of major construction, civil engineering, resources, defence and privately funded infrastructure projects. He is also experienced in alliancing and the outsourcing of maintenance and other functions.

His recent experience involves working on the $8 billion SEA 2000 Air Warfare Destroyer program, the Royal North Shore Hospital Redevelopment PPP and the Adelaide and Sydney desalination plants.

Prior to joining Mallesons, Wood worked was a partner at the then Blake Dawson Waldron, and prior to that, a partner at Freehills.
