As part of its strategy of expansion, Lander and Rogers has recruited two senior practitioners to its Melbourne office.

Family law specialist David Gillard has joined the firm as a special counsel, moving across from Rennick & Gaynor where he was a partner. Gillard has broad family law experience, with particular expertise in commercial matters, third-party litigation and overseas cross-jurisdictional cases.

Meanwhile, Simon Ellis has joined the firm's insurance law and litigation team as a senior associate. Ellis has recently returned to Australia following three and a half years working with a large insurance law firm in London. He has extensive experience in professional indemnity insurance, having acted in claims brought against solicitors, barristers and brokers. He also has broad commercial litigation expertise, in particular involving claims in the financial services and aviation sectors.

We're evolving — and so should your insights. Heads up — Lawyers Weekly is going premium from 1 May for just $5 a month. Stay informed without missing a beat. More information coming soon.
