Mallesons Stephen Jaques has lost tax specialist Tim Sherman to Baker & McKenzie.

Sherman, who joins Baker's Sydney office as a partner, has extensive experience in taxation-related advice for corporate acquisitions, divestments and restructurings, capital raisings, offshore funds and executive and employee share and options schemes.

He also lectures in the Master of Laws program at the University of Sydney and is a regular presenter to the Taxation Institute of Australia.

He has been awarded the Commissioner's prize for research into Australia's tax treaties.
