At the age of 31, Minter Ellison senior associate Amber Keating has been appointed to the position of partner in the firm's Perth office, nine years after she graduated and started in the firm's commercial litigation team.
Admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 2003, Keating joins 18 other partners to become the third female appointed to the partnership in the firm's Perth office and is the only senior associate to have been made partner at Minter Ellison Perth in this round of advancements.
Keating credits her rise to partner as a result of hard work and being in a very supportive firm that has actively encouraged career progression.
"I've had an excellent mentor from very early on in my career in Laurie Shervington. His encouragement, support and counsel has been invaluable in my development and progression," Keating said. "The senior lawyer development program at Minters has also helped me prepare for the role of partner in recent months."
Keating has specialised in Corporations Act issues and compliance and ASX Listing Rules issues. She has acted for clients in a variety of acquisitions and divestments and has experience in regulated mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
