Johnson Winter & Slattery (JWS) has appointed former Norton Rose lawyer Calum Henderson as a partner based in its Sydney office.

A competition law and market regulation specialist, Henderson's practice focuses on the media, technology and entertainment industries, taking a particular interest in the intersection of intellectual property rights with competition regulation.

Managing partner Peter Slattery said JWS had a number of clients working within or crossing over the media, technology and entertainment sectors and that Henderson's expertise would greatly enhance the firms practice in this area.

While at Norton rose, Henderson advised Japan Airlines to defend price fixing allegations and authored the Australia: Competition and Consumer Law Update among other competition law publications
