Hall & Wilcox (H&W) have made four internal promotions to senior associate in the firm's taxation, financial services, corporate and commercial and employment group.

The promotions bring the firm's senior associate count to 36, its partner count remains at 29 and four special counsel.

 
 

Zoe Keith (insurance) was previously an associate at Dibbs Abbott Stillman and was promoted within H&W for her current practice in public and product liability; property damage; indemnity disputes; and marine claims.

Lateral hire Joanna Musk (employment) has experience in contentious and non-contentious workplace relations matters in financial services; construction; mining and resources; manufacturing; and state government industries. Musk was previously a senior associate at Herbert Geer and Allens Arthur Robinson and was also a lawyer at Minter Ellison in Sydney, McDermott Will & Emery and Linklaters in London.

Andrew Carter (taxation) was promoted for his expertise in direct taxes; international tax structuring; capital gains tax; income tax consolidation; employee share schemes and taxation disputes. Prior to joining H&W, Carter was a senior taxation consultant at chartered accounting firm, Ernst & Young.

Eugene Chen (financial services and corporate and commercial) was formerly a tax consultant with KPMG. His promotion recognises his practice in business and company sales and purchases; conducting business due diligence; advising on and establishing companies, trusts, partnerships, tax effective joint ventures and private equity vehicles.
