Andrew Chew has joined Corrs Chambers Westgarth's Sydney construction group as a partner.

Formerly a partner in Baker & McKenzie's construction group, specialising in major projects, Chew is a qualified engineer and Mandarin speaker.

He has experience across the infrastructure and resources fields, including in public-private partnerships, transport, mining, energy and water infrastructure projects, and public and social housing facilities.

Chew's most recent experience includes LNG projects (Curtis LNG, Gladstone LNG); major PPPs (Peninsula Link project, new Royal Adelaide Hospital, Mundaring Water Treatment Plant); and rail infrastructure projects (Regional Rail Link [Vic], South-West Rail Link [NSW],, North-South Railway [Saudi Arabia], and Bangkok MRT).

Corrs partner and CEO John Denton said Chew's hire meant the firm has now expanded its national construction team by six partners in two years.
