Clayton Utz has appointed former Allens Arthur Robinson partner John Dieckmann as a special counsel in Melbourne.

Dieckmann worked at Allens for over 10 years, advising private and public sector clients on large-scale technology procurement projects.
He has advised on managed service agreements, internet and ecommerce law, data security and privacy issues, technology commercialisation, and the technology aspects of significant M&A transactions.
Dieckmann previously advised on NBN Co's $1.1 billion wireless procurement project, which involved agreements with Ericsson Australia for the design, deployment, operation and maintenance of an advanced long-term evolution wireless network.
He also spent two years as a managing associate in the telecommunications, media and technology practice at Linklaters.
