King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has added to its Brisbane intellectual property practice with the appointment of Sophia Finter.
Finter joins KWM from Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) where she worked as a senior lawyer in their IP team acting on a number of high profile copyright cases including the Cooper, Kazaa and iiNet cases.
Prior to joining G +T, Finter worked for Universal Music, Phonographic Performance Company of Australia Limited, Warner/Chappell Music and Epic/Sony Records (Japan).
KWM IP partner John Swinson, who is based in the firm’s Brisbane office, said Finter brings with her “a wealth of experience and industry knowledge which will provide further depth to our IP litigation practice”.
KWM’s IP practice comprises 350 partners and lawyers.
